About Us
DMV Chop Bar was founded in 2018 by cousins, June Fredericks Gassama and Precious Gonyon. We provide full service catering for occasions of all sizes, ranging from intimate gatherings in homes to large scale weddings.
As first-generation Liberian-Americans, we infuse our unique, blended heritage into every dish, creating a culinary experience that blends bold flavors with unique ingredients. DMV Chop Bar pays homage to our late grandmother Sarah, who left behind a rich legacy that exemplified her passion for cooking and bringing people together. DMV Chop Bar is about creating experiences around dining tables like the one our grandmother created for us.
The “Chop” in DMV Chop Bar stands for “creating happiness out of passion.” Through our cooking, we hope to inspire others to use something that they are passionate about to find fulfillment in life.
